Corners wear through first, then the handles, then the colour along the edges that rub against clothing.
On a jacket it is the cuffs, elbows and panels. All of it is repairable.
We rebuild worn corners and handles, repair torn seams, cuts and panels, take out scuffs and scratches, and restore colour across the whole piece so the repair does not sit as a darker patch. On jackets we can also change the finish, most often from gloss to matte, and bring back softness in leather that has dried out. Cleaning and conditioning are included in the work.
Designer bags and leather jackets
We work on Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren and similar pieces, and on leather jackets: cuts, tears, worn cuffs and damaged panels. Colour is mixed to the original, and we keep the repair to the smallest area that will hold.
One Chanel bag came in after a dog had got hold of it, a torn panel, damaged corners and scratches across the leather, and went out three days later with the tear repaired, the corners rebuilt and the colour renewed across the whole bag. A leather jacket with cat scratches took three days: the scratches were taken out, the colour matched, and the worn areas restored by dyeing.
Colour matching on small pieces
On a bag or a jacket there is nowhere to hide a repair, so the colour has to be right the first time. We mix to the piece rather than to a chart, and where it has faded unevenly we take the colour across the whole panel rather than spotting it.
How long it takes
A handbag or a jacket takes one to three days. Small work, like a single scuff or one corner, is sometimes done the same day.

Can you match the colour of my leather exactly?
Yes. We mix colour to your piece rather than picking from a chart, so the repaired area reads the same as the leather around it. On older pieces that have faded unevenly we blend the repair across the whole panel, so there is no visible edge where the work stops.
